The usage of touch screens in lifts

Jörg Hellmich's picture

When facing the rapid development of modern TFT screens in the lift industry it quickly becomes clear, that this is not just a passing trend, but the future. The use of screens in lifts does not only look impressive, but also brings many technical advantages. More and more often multifunction screens are utilized across-the-board. They can be found not only in the industrial sector anymore, but rather in households. The touch technology makes screens a flexible input device and allows interaction with the user.  It therefore makes sense to use touch screens in lifts, both in car and floor panel. Therefore the interested users’ question of the technology’s advantages and disadvantages raises.

New visualisation capabilities in conjunction with interconnected load measuring sensors

Jörg Hellmich's picture

Load measuring sensors for elevators are used in many different areas. Usually the identification of overload situations is sufficient. In other applications though, exact information about the load situation is necessary. New measuring processes and the interconnection of sensors via the field bus of the lift are now offering flexible possibilities for evaluation and visualization for many application cases. flexyPage at Heilbronn Lift Conference 2016

Jörg Hellmich's picture

This year we presented our flexyPage displays to the trade public for the first time. We were surprised about the great interest in our displays. Especially the combination of elevator data and multimedia content and easy configuration with a browser via the internet were received enthusiastically. Of the exhibited designs, the touch display in particular was received with interest, more so than the LT-Line display. This time the touch mirror display was still called a 'gimmick'.  Read more about flexyPage at Heilbronn Lift Conference 2016
