In the elevator car, the flexyPage displays can be mounted in the COP in combination with the call buttons. The touch displays of the DM-Line can also be used as call buttons.
For supplementing a COP a display is often used in the back wall or sidewall of the elevator car. It shows off the tenant directory or building-specific advertising, which must be updated regularly. The contents can be controlled dynamically depending on lift signals, floor level, direction signal or special conditions, such as fire or overload.

flexyPage Displays offer many advantages compared to conventional LED displays. Here we have listed a few advantages:
A lift display is of course expected to show the user what the lift is currently doing. The basic information for this is: The current floor, the direction of movement, messages and possibly the current load as well as velocity or position.
With flexyPage displays there are new possibilities of interacting with the passengers of the lift. Requests can still be taken by regular buttons or directly on the display. This way e.g. in case of a hearing diability, information and dialugues can be displayed visually.
Sometimes it is necessary in lifts to add different priorities to calls or to keep the doors open longer for loading. When for example a patient in a hospital is being transportet to surgery, the ride should be direct and should not be interrupted at every floor in between. For this case the lift can be given a priority signal through an external input signal via RFID-Chip, PIN code or via timer/events.
flexyPage displays have an inegrated voice announcement. This supports the display in indicating the floor level and can be very useful especially for people with a seeing disability or when the cabin is very full and the view of the display compromised. Additionally important notifications can be given (Mind the step / Door closing) and background music can be played for entertainment. The sound can be played by an internal loudspeaker or external active speakers in stereo. Any number of files can be saved on the SD card of the display. The volume of the background music will be reduced by a fading function during voice announcements.
We integrated various functions for recognising dangerous sotuations into the display. For example the detection of steps created by a wrong position of the lift cabin. For this function the data of an absolute position sensor has to be available via the CANopen-Lift interface.
Then the displays will measure how accurately the cabin stops every time and can automatically display an appropriate warning when the door opens. At the same time the voice announcement can promt a 'mind the step' warning.
flexyPage displays are equipped with modern processors usually used for phones and tablets. For these battery-driven devices they achieve a high processing power with minimal energy consumption. For the background lighting of the displays we only use modern LED backlights, which also have a very high efficiency.
To reduce the energy consumption even further, we implemented many functions that let us recognise whether there is a person in the lift or not and whether the lift is currently in use or rest. In resting periods the backlights can be reduced or fully switched off, thus, reducing the energy demand to a minimum. When the display is needed again, the backlight can be turned back on in the fraction of a second.
