Can (OLED) televisions be used in an lift?

Answer:

OLED TV´s  provide a very beautiful picture and are therefore particularly suitable for advertising purposes. However, the lifetime of OLED technology is still relatively short and the colours age at different speeds. Therefore, there are currently no large OLED panels for industrial applications.
In principle, the following must be kept in mind when using consumer televisions:
- The service life of the displays is limited and is generally designed for operation of four-eight hours per day for the duration of the warranty period. Exceedances of these times are often recorded internally and the warranty may then be denied.
- Regular disconnection of the power supply prevents switching to standby mode, in which an automatic repair against burn-in can be carried out in the background. This can lead to damage of the screen (strong burn-in). In the manuals of these televisions, it is often advised not to switch off the television by means of a power strip.
- The installation situation is often fixed so that the internal heat can be dissipated. Vertical installation is often associated with a loss of warranty.
- Driving the car onto the buffers is certainly a great challenge for a consumer appliance.
- The backlight must be able to be switched off and on via a signal from the HDMI interface. The monitor must then be able to automatically return to the desired mode. This must be tested.
- It must be possible to switch off the power-saving mode of the monitor/TV.
- After switching on the voltage, the television must be able to switch back to the operating mode immediately and not wait for the signal from the remote control. For some televisions there is a suitable option in the menu. Here is some information: https://flexypage.de/de/faq/kann-ich-digital-signage-monitore-mit-flexypage-verwenden

Thats why digital signage monitors are used for such requirements. These are a little more expensive, but designed for the corresponding operation.
Even if they are not available with OLEDs, they are available with high contrast and brightness, so that they can also be used in shop windows under sunlight.
