Did you know ...

that the use of destination control systems can result in long waiting time?

More and more frequently, we are encountering buildings with modern elevators that use destination control systems, particularly those with high-user traffic. However, do not assume that destination control systems will reduce waiting times before entering the elevator. Destination control systems are only optimized for reaching the intended floor as quickly as possible, and not for picking up the passenger in the fastest way, as in the case of elevators with collective controls. This can actually result in longer waiting periods before the elevator arrives. For that reason, flexyPage displays are well-suited for easing the perceived waiting time through entertaining multimedia content.

flexyPage displays support destination calls

The modern flexyPage displays have plenty of features for visualization and elevator control, using multimedia content provided at a local level or through the internet. Additionally, input and visualization of destination calls is now available. Through its modern technology, displays can be used in a variety of ways for destination control in the building, such as: landing display with integrated touch, pre-ride information above or next to the elevator door, or floor status and direction of travel during the ride. The passenger remains informed during the whole elevator ride. This not only provides the user with transparency and a feeling of safety, it also contributes to the reduction of unintended flights and ensures increased passenger comfort.

User-friendly landing displays with touch functionality for destination calls

The flexyPage displays can now be used for individual destination calls, too. The intuitive user interface of the flexyPage display ensures easy operation of all existing functions on the display. This creates an optimized communication between the passenger and the elevator while providing the elevator systems with greater efficiency and smoother traffic flows. As soon as the destination floor is acknowledged, the display indicates to the passenger which elevator will have the fastest route. Screen designs, including destination control widgets, are also freely customizable.

Modern TFT displays at the top of elevator group landings

Large-scale displays are particularly suitable for displaying entertainment and detailed information  above a group of elevator doors that have destination control. During the passenger’s waiting time, multimedia content, such as building information, weather data or news, can be displayed through the flexyPage Campaign platform and eases the perceived waiting time. As soon as the elevator enters the landing, the display can automatically switch from the multimedia content to lift information showing the elevator’s next destinations. This information helps elevator passengers to avoid accidental boarding.

High quality car displays for floor status indication

The use of car displays can increase ride comfort and provide better orientation. They inform passengers about floor status, current direction, and the next stops. Moreover, details regarding individual floors and advertisements can be shown with the modern flexyPage displays. Examples can include residential information in office buildings or an advertisement for the Spa area in a hotel. Because it is equipped with a touch sensor, the display is also useable for car call when the elevator temporarily leaves the destination control system, e.g. special rides.
